Electric Mobility
Charging infrastructure for homes, workplaces and fleets making the switch to electric.
Transport is one of the biggest sources of fuel costs and emissions. Electric vehicles are cheaper to run per kilometre and have far fewer moving parts to maintain — but they depend on reliable charging where people live, work and travel.
We plan and install EV charging for homes, workplaces, fleets and public sites, and can pair chargers with solar so vehicles charge on clean, self-generated energy. For drivers, the eCharge Africa app finds chargers, starts a session and takes payment by M-Pesa or card.
Ideal for
- Homes with an electric vehicle
- Workplaces and office parks
- Fleet operators — delivery, taxi and shuttle services
- Malls, hotels and fuel stations offering public charging
What's included
- Site assessment: Your electrical supply capacity, parking layout and cable routes.
- Charger selection: AC chargers where vehicles park for hours, DC fast chargers for quick turnaround.
- Solar-powered charging: Chargers paired with solar so vehicles run on energy generated on site.
- Load management: Available power shared across chargers so your supply isn't overloaded.
- Installation & commissioning: Chargers installed, tested and ready for drivers.
- Access & payment: App-based sessions and cashless payment options for public and fleet charging.
How it works
- Assessment: We review your site, supply and how vehicles will use the chargers.
- Design & proposal: Charger types, numbers, power and costs.
- Installation: Electrical works and charger installation.
- Commissioning: Testing, configuration and handover.
- Support: Maintenance and help as your charging needs grow.
Benefits
- Lower cost per kilometre: Electricity typically costs far less per kilometre than petrol or diesel.
- Charge on solar: Pair chargers with solar to charge on energy you generate yourself.
- Fleet-ready: Infrastructure planned for how and when your vehicles operate.
- Attract customers: Public charging brings EV drivers to your premises.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between AC and DC charging?
AC chargers suit places where vehicles park for hours — at home, at work or overnight. DC fast chargers deliver far more power for quick top-ups at busy public or fleet sites, and need a stronger electrical supply.
Can our building's supply handle EV chargers?
We check your supply capacity first. Load management can share the available power between chargers, and solar can add generation on site.
Can chargers run on solar power?
Yes. Pairing chargers with a solar system means vehicles charge on energy you generate during the day — see our solar EV charger project below.
